Fulani terrorists/Jihadists strike again, attack Jos Aviation quarters

The entire aviation sector has again been thrown into confusion following a fresh kidnap of a housewife at the Jos Aviation quarters located in the Heipang area of Plateau State.

According to the information gathered, the gunmen were able to access the quarters at about 8.15 pm and started shooting sporadically.
Initially, three people including the husband of the abducted woman were kidnapped, but they were able to escape from their abductors leaving only the woman.

The latest news is coming barely five weeks after similar action was carried out at the Kaduna airport where eleven airport workers were kidnapped by gunmen.
While ten out of the Kaduna airport workers were released after four days in captivity, it is not yet clear if the eleventh personnel has been freed.
Few days after the first Kaduna kidnap, another attempt made by the gunmen to carry out a similar attack was foiled by the military within the Kaduna airport vicinity.

The latest Jos kidnap has started attracting reactions from key players in the sector with an aviation security expert, Group Captain John Ojikutu asking: “Is this not looking like a rehearsal of a big thing waiting to happen?
From Kaduna airport episode which shares boundary with NAF base and NDA to Jos airport joint sharing bound with NAF; I am getting worried and I hope the national security council is equally worried.
“Just writing warning about further airport incursions after Kaduna episodes; these airports are closer to military formations or are joint users. I have asked the question before; who is watching over sites of our economic importance such as our airports and seaports? Refineries and pipeline? Power generations and transmission lines? Bridges connecting south to north, east to west, Lagos mainland to the islands? Etc? We should blame ourselves if any of these are being attacked by the homegrown terrorists we grew by ourselves.”
