“PLANS BY IPOB-ESN TO RESUME OFFENSIVE AGAINST SECURITY PERSONNEL IN THE SOUTH EAST, NIGERIA.
Available Intelligence has uncovered the dastardly plans by the proscribed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB-ESN) to resume offensive against security personnel and their Bases across the South East.
In preparation for the hostilities, the group started yesterday the 02/04/2021 to move their Killer Squad in a truck through Umuahia Tower in Abia state by Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway to parts of Enugu state and would conclude the movement of both arms and the Killer Squad today the 03/04/2021 at night time.
The planned coordinated attacks on police stations and both military and police Checkpoints is billed to commence at night of Easter Sunday the 04/04/2021.
Weapons at the disposal of the group to unleash the attacks include bottle bombs, locally made improvised explosive devices (IEDs), locally made AK- 47 rifles and the ones previously carted away from security agencies, Pump Action rifles as well as swords and iron rods.
Targets of attacks are police stations within Enugu metropolis and the environs as well as other major cities in the region. Both military and police patrol teams and Checkpoints along the major Highways in the South East.
ASSESSMENT : It is believed that the choice of the Easter celebration to unleash the attacks is because they envisage the security personnel to lose their guard in the heat of the celebration and members of the public will occupy themselves with merriment and moving to and fro the worship centres. Such heavy vehicular and human traffics is considered a fertile ground to launch a successful operation.
